Pioneering: Festuris will be the first event certified by SeloXIS

SeloXIS certifies sustainable practices in hotels and tourist events in Brazil, evaluating more than 100 ESG indicators

Festuris – Gramado International Tourism Trade Show, recognized as one of the main business and trend platforms in the sector in Latin America, will be the first event to achieve SeloXIS certification. The choice of Festuris to inaugurate the event certification reinforces the Seal's proposal: to offer a new perspective on sustainability in Brazilian tourism, rigorously evaluating the socio-environmental impacts of hotels and events in the sector.

Created by Priscila Bentes, CEO of Circuito Elegante for over 20 years, the Seal analyzes more than 100 environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact indicators in tourism ventures. Among the certified hotels, the most recent are Zendaya, in Búzios (RJ), and Fazenda São Luiz da Boa Sorte, in Vassouras (RJ).

The central tool in the certification process is the Hotel Management Sustainability Index (ISGH), which is available for consultation online in both free and paid versions, and the Event Management Sustainability Index (ISGE).

“Based on standards such as the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Ethos Indicators, we have created an exclusive index to diagnose, in depth, the ESG reality of Brazilian tourism,” explains Aline Schneiders, sustainability specialist and certification director for the project.

ABOUT SELOXIS - SeloXIS was created to differentiate companies in the tourism sector that already adopt sustainable practices and to support businesses that are beginning this journey, offering guidance and credibility in the process. With audited criteria aligned with global best practices, SeloXIS helps attract qualified customers, strengthen reputation with partners and investors, and reduce costs through more efficient management.

It is a competitive advantage that transforms good practices—and the commitment to implement them—into value perceived and recognized by the market.

Conceived in 2018, SeloXis underwent a restructuring in 2024, with the entry of partners Aline Schneiders and Ludmila Vilar, a journalist specializing in ESG. The project was supported by an advisory board of hoteliers and a partnership with UFRJ. The certification process involves two stages: Evaluation and Counterpart and Monitoring.
