The award was presented by the president of the Excelencias Group, José Santiago, and by Eduardo Zorzanello, CEO of Festuris – Gramado International Tourism Fair and son of Silvia Zorzanello. Representing the state of Alagoas, the executive secretary of Tourism, Marília Herrmann, received the award on behalf of the state secretary of Tourism, Bárbara Braga.
During the ceremony, Eduardo Zorzanello highlighted the state's leading role in Brazilian and international tourism. "We have to thank Secretary Bárbara Braga for the wonderful work that has been done by the state of Alagoas. This destination has a thriving tourism industry, with significant development, sustainability, and incredible natural beauty. And for us, it has been a source of pride since 2011 to see my mother's name immortalized here and, each year, to be able to return to this space that is ensuring that Festuris, her memory, and all the work she did continue to resonate. Congratulations, Alagoas," he said.
Upon receiving the trophy, Marília Herrmann emphasized that international recognition reinforces the strategic work developed by the state. "It is an honor to be here today to receive this Excellence Award for the state of Alagoas. This reinforces that the work is being done effectively and that growth has been significant for tourism in Alagoas. We are very happy. Our state's slogan is ‘Be, feel, and live,’ because those who visit Alagoas find a beautiful sea, incredible beaches, and unique cuisine. When tourists arrive in our state, they are able to live, feel, and enjoy. Tourism in Alagoas never stops," she emphasized.
